  1. Just use an appropriate paper doll and/or a picture you like from a magazine.  Someone in a pose you like - maybe wearing something form fitting that you could design over.  Use some cardboard for backing if you want. You can cut the same pose out without details - just the outlines...You will be merrily designing in no time!

    Very best wishes.

  2. Well, if you really want to do this, then you definatley need some kind of drawing skills

    So just take lessons!

It will really be worth it when you become the next Coco Chanel

  3. draw a stick figure

  4. pick a different career

  5. Find a pre-drawn template of a body to use! They're probably many different looking ones to choose from and print all over the internet!

  6. tell someone what you have in mind and have them draw for you?

  7. just draw the clothes

  8. just draw teh clothes

  9. Get a pad with the bodies!!

  10. Even some of the great designers of today are not that good at sketching....like anything if you want to be good then you have to work at it.

So start practicing, while learing how to sew ( or do other things in fashion), but drawing is something that will benifit you, especially if you want to be a fashion designer ( you have to be able to relate your ideas to someone to make !)

Just get a cheap sketch book from  Walmart in craft section or any art supply store, you have to learn how to draw in proportion and how clothes look on the body..try the following books below..( they are under $20, and alot of fashion colleges use them as text books, so you are learning from the same source as college student and plus you can keep these and reuse, they are good to have!)

Some of the fashion  books can be expensive, so I would first go to you local library and look up the words "Fashion Sketches" or "fashion Illustration"... you can photo copy some of the bodies and poses and then draw ontop of them until you can free hand the sketch form scratch.

As you get better with your drawings you can then add color with Pantone or Prisma Markers , watercolor and pen/ink or just start with cheap markers or colored pencils.

You owe it to yourself to learn and be the best that you can be, and this will benifit you in the long run! Hope this helps or at least points you in the right direction!

    Good Luck and Keep Practicing!
