How do i fidn the WEP key for my nephews psp?

we everything correct i believe except the WEP in which i have no idea how to find. i have verizon wirless internet if that helps?

the wep key is in the ROUTER that your interent is being transmitted from.  You need to go to the computer and go into the routers settings to find the wep key and or set a new key.   you can also turn off the wep key and the psp wont look for one, but that means any one can steal your interent from you also.

you can find the wep key on the router box

for example it looks like this [5253664322]

just write the numbers on your psp and thats all...

thats what i did and it worked for my psp & ipod touch

WEP is the encryption key for your router. If you have a router then you know know your wep key, else, if you don't have a router, then there is nothing you can do.

WEP is usually 26 digits if its using the 128bit encryption scheme, else 13 digits if its using the 64bit encryption scheme.

the WEP key is not for the psp, but to login to a wireless router near by. Find the WEP for the router, if you do not know, it is probably nothing...

its to do with your router box.

it should be on a cover of the disk that came with it or on the actual router itself.

or mayby the person who set it up has it written down somewhere.

or you can go into your router settings and find it.

or turn it off and the psp wont look for one..

but then your internet can be used by anyone..

and that can be very dangerous so i dont recomend it.

WEP key is the password to whatever internet you have so try looking at your modem if it is a default password or if its a password you set, type it in.

The wep key is set by the owner / administrator of the wireless router / cell tower.

If you have a wireless router connected to an ADSL / phone line or cable tv based internet system, you can change the wep key by logging into the router.  Read the router's manual.  It usually involves connecting a computer to the router with a cable, then visiting an address like 192.168.1.10

If your internet connection is solely wireless, phone the service provider, and they can give it to you after confirming your identity.
