How do i figure out whether my lcd t.v. speaker setup is compatable with the audio of a new home theater sys?

It would help if you supplied the model numbers of your TV and receiver. But if the TV is pretty new it should be compatible. The TV will have a digital output that you would run to a digital input on the receiver. It could be coax or fiber optic. They are both good.
