How do i file my taxes 2008 over seas?

i will have my w2 mailed to me how can i file or can someone else file for me in the USA?

  1. I suppose it could be possible for you to get a power of attorney for someone to do your taxes for you, but I wouldn't if I were you.    You can request tax forms be sent to you, print them from online, or complete them online.  When we were stationed overseas we used TaxAct and submitted online (though you can print and mail them too). There are a lot of software choices for doing your taxes and you can visit irs.gov as well.


  2. You could do it online or with Turbo Tax regardless of what country you happen to be in.  Or you can appoint somebody to do that for you by signing that right to them by a Power of Attorney.  POAs can be limited so you can give somebody to act on your behalf on tax matters without giving them the right to do everything on your behalf.  That is generally what military men who go overseas and leave a wife behind do.

  3. The same as if you were in the US but you use foreign postage stamps.  You mail your return to
