  1. I suggest putting either negotiable or open as rate of pay. If you put in a certain figure you are locking yourself into a specific pay rate which could be higher or lower than available.

What made you select the company? I would answer it honestly. If it was a friend who suggested you contact them, classified ad, opportunity for advancement, etc.,

Special training or skills? They are looking for something you can use in your job if they hire you. Being bilingual would be an asset with some organizations. Being able to operate a cash register would help if that is part of the job description.

When will you be able to go to work? Immediately, 1 week, etc., If you are currently employed I suggest allowing enough time to work a notice. Future employers like to see someone who will not leave them short handed and give them time to make arrangements to hire someone to replace you. You don't need to work a notice more than 1-2 weeks. One week should be sufficient.

One of the most important things you can do when applying for a job is to be honest. As an employer I can tell you that I place a very high value on honesty.

  2. Here are sample answers that I just thought of. If you want to use any of them (as long as they're true to you) feel free.

    1) "negotiable" - it's a safe bet especially if you aren't sure what the average pay is there.

    2) "dollar tree is a great place with a friendly atmosphere, and I enjoy the customer service environment"

    3) "bilingual, cashiering, customer service skills, computer skills, organizational skills" (whichever is true of course).

    4) "immediately" (if it's your first job, otherwise write "2 weeks." 2 weeks is the expected time frame to give your old employer notice).

  3. You can always put negotiable.  However, you should have something in mind depending on your experience.  If you do than be honest.  This will keep you from wasting your time and theirs.
