I have experienced the whole collegiate greek informational events at an HBCU and another University. I was steered in the wrong direction by some folks who were supposed to be mentor figures. I'm glad i didn't become a member then because it would have been for the wrong reason such as popularity etc. the only sorority that has impacted my undergrad years was ZPB.Now that i have grown intellectually and done some soul searching i have found myself relating to two organizations. I married a Phi Beta Sigma and he is an advocate for the only true brother/sisterhood. With all that said, now that I'm in the military stationed abroad, how do i get to meet members who can mentor me now and help me get to this goal.

  1. In the Marine Corps, we have things called the Single Marine Program and MCCS (Marine Corps Community Services). These two groups (yes, you can use the SMP even if you aren't single) can help you find things in the local area for you. If you are not in the Marines, you should have something similar anyway, possibly run by civilians like SMP and MCCS are.
