last night a bat flew into my room, i thought it was a butterfly, but when i turned on a light, IT WAS A GREAT BIG BAT! i saw it fly out of my room and down stairs. I opened my window and slept in another room (with the door closed) I was too tiered to go and find it. The strange thing is, no windows were open, i couldn't see how it got in. We don't have an attic or loft space, so i'm very confuzzled!! How do i find this bat? Where is it likely to be hiding? I know how to get it out of the house safley, but not how the h**l i find it! HELP!

  1. They can hide in holes as small as banana leaves that aren't fully grown and "uncurled" yet. Check for these nooks and crannies around your house, ceilings maybe? ...

  2. They can hide in very tiny spaces..it is possible it got out using the same route it used to get into your house.  Check your house for cracks and crevices that may lead to the outside, or that the bat could be sleeping in now.  It may be that you will see it flying around your house again tonight..if so, try to humanely capture it and release it outside.

  3. Count yourself lucky. I'd rather have bats in my house than mosquitoes, gnats, and other flies. Of course, if it's a rabid vampire bat ....

  4. Bats are only small and they like the dark, so your likely to find them hiding in a dark spot. Another tell tale sign is bat pooh on the floor, it looks similar to rat pooh and black in colour.
