  1. Ok, so firstly you need to figure out what 'a' represents.

    This algebra equation is asking you what 5 times (what + 2) minus 2 times (what + 3) equals 19.

    Click on this link - it'll show you how this particular equation is solved step by step

    Where it says "universal simplifier and solver", enter the exact equation into the box next to it and then click on the Solve or Simply button.

    Good Luck

  2. 5(a+2)-2(a+3)=19

    first you would multiply the number or value at your left next to the parenthesis by distributing it. always watch your sign in multiplying. which would result to

    5a+10-2a-6=19

    then arrange and add similar terms. which would result to this

    5a-2a-6+10=19

    3a+4=19

    transpose the numerical value which is 4 and leaving only 3a at the left. always remember in transposing the sign it would become the opposite. therefore, if the sign is positive it would become negative and vice versa.

    3a+4=19

    3a=19-4

    perform the operations leaving only a single value at the right

    3a=15

    divide both sides with 3 to leave a in the left side

    3a=15

    3    3

    a=5

    therefore a=5 you can check your answer by substituting the value of a which is 5 to a.

    this is your original equation

    5(a+2)-2(a+3)=19

    substitute the value a=5

    5(5+2)-2(5+3)=19

    start in the parenthesis by performing the signs

    5(7)-2(8)=19

    multiply the number at the left remember to watch your sign

    35-16=19

    subtract the number. if it is the same with 19 then our answer is correct.

    19=19

    i hope i helped you. just ask questions if you have. God Bless you

  3. 5a+10-2a-6=19

    5a-2a-6=9

    5a-2a=3

    3a=3

    a=1

  4. (5a+10)-(2a+6) = 19

    5a - 2a = 3a

    10- 6 = 4

    3a +4 = 19

    3a = 19 - 4

    3a = 15

    a = 15/3

    a = 5

    to recheck

    5(5+2) - 2(5+3) = 19

    (5 x 7) - (2x8) = 19

    35 - 16 = 19 yippppeeeeeeeeee

  5. expand it so...

    5a + 10    -    2a + 6 = 19

    then subtract the like terms and plus both sides...

    (5a-2a) + (10-6) = 19

    therefore.... 3a+4=19

    put 4 over the other side so...

    3a=19-4

    therefore...3a=15

    and then to put the 3 from the 3a on the other side you divide the other side by three...

    a=15/3

    so therefore

    a=5

    o and to prove im right sub a=5 back into the equation...

  6. Removing brackets  we get 5a+10-2a-6=19

    Therefore                           5a-2a+10-6=19

         "                                  3a+4=19

         "                                  3a=19-4

         "                                  3a=15

         "                                  a=15/3=5

         "                                  a=5

    Those who got a=1 don't kno the basics of maths.Put 1 in a's place and cross-check whether your answer is correct.

  7. 5(a+2)-2(a+3)=19

    5a +10-2a+6=19

    5a+16-2a=19

    3a+16=19

    3a=19-16

    3a=3

    divide each side by 3 and you get

    a=1

  8. What an appropriate category!

  9. Um..

    5(a+2)-2(a+3)=19 ?

    5 (a+2) - 2 (a+3) = 19

    multiple the numerals by the numbers in the parentheses..

    (5a + 10) - (2a +6) = 19

    Now, 5a - 2a = 3a

    10 - 6 = 4

    so 3a + 4 = 19

    19 - 4 = 15

    3a = 15

    divide both sides by 3...

    a = 5?

    I'm not sure where you all are coming up with 16, there's a MINUS sign?

  10. WRONG CATERGORY... but i tell u anyway...

    5(a+2)-2(a+3)=19

    5a+10-2a-6=19

    3a+4=19

    3a=15

    a=5

  11. it's 1, toddler.
