How do i find a job in the oil industry ...being a female i imagine its not easy?

prior military...just looking for a job related to my mos (petrolium supply specialist) im in the colorado springs area.

Get a good resume together and get on Monster.com and Yahoo! Hot Jobs!  Also apply directly online through company websites. Look in the paper for local career fairs as well where you can get onsite interviews. NETWORKING is key!!

The oil industry is very dirty and u will get it all over yourself. There should be several delivery co. that u could work for. Normally u star5t at the bottom and work yourself up.

I would think you would want to get into an alternative energy field. You would have a better job that will be around alot longer

I would just look for "HELP WANTED" signs at the many gas stations in your area, I see them all the time down here in Dallas and the current employees seem to be split about 50-50 male-female.

That should be very easy. Call some employment specialists or search on line. You're being a woman is a plus. Companies now discriminate only against white males. Good luck.

if you are young and can go back to school, get your Master's degree in engineering.  You can apply for a job at different places like Chevron, BP OIL, etc.etc.  In Northern California, Texas ...and you have to be willing to go to where the jobs are.  Military experience does not say anything and might not count. Perhaps you need to contact a recruiter that specialize in your area.  They will put you in contact with the employers you are seeking to work with.  And will tell you what qualification you need to have to get the job you want. Some jobs might be in Alaska, Europe, others in the middle East, or Venezuela ...etc.

One last thing ...get rid of that notion that because you are female it won't be easy...no matter what, if you are prepared with the right education and experience and the right attitude, you will get the job you want.  One other thing to consider is working on "contract", "temporary" or by projects etc. to gain experience. This will help a lot.
