I am a 20 y/o male in the seattle area and I recently lost both my job and home(long story...) I have no permanent address or phone number which makes it hard to find another job. And the lack of a job makes it hard to find a place to live. Ive got about $600 still saved up and no criminal record. My current goals are to find a place to live and...

1. Get a part time job and go to college... or...

2. Get a full time job until i can get into my college of choice.

So my question is... how do i accomplish my goals when nearly every option requires either a job or a home?

  1. The one thing you do have now is time (which is a plus believe it or not). OK, the first thing you need to do is get a place to stay (permanently) rather then crashing on a friends couch - although, if you are capable of doing this for a week or so, that too will save you some money.  Look for a "room for rent" or an apartment in the want ads where someone is looking for a roommate - this will help cut costs for you. Just be upfront and honest with them and let them know know how much you can afford and that you are looking for a job.  As far as work - I would go straight to the unemployment office or to any job fairs in your area (get your resume together and always have lots of copies on you).  The most important thing is to get off your **** and do something about it, rather then sit and sulk and stare at your computer hoping that someone else has the answers to all your problems. Good Luck to you!

  2. Pray! Don't try that payday thing, it looks like a scam. You only have $600 or so left...use it wisely.
