How do i find a nice motorcyle under $1000?

looking for a cheap nice cruiser motorcycle to ride around with friends and take me to school and back

cheap & nice don't go together but http://craigslist.com is the best place to buy a used bike, i think

look for used bikes at local dealers,  or swap sheets.   If you're not too picky you can get an old honda for a few hundred bucks

If you are handy you can buy a couple basket cases and put them together

Most bikes of any quality are over 2k. If you are a mechanic you might find one you could make into a quality bike.

All of mine cost over $6000.00 up to 20k.

you can find a 50cc scooter for under $1000

if you want a cruiser =/ you can find something that's maybe 20~30yrs old...w/ 50,000+ miles maybe or one with salvage / theft recover title

You can get a great bike for $1000. The trick is not to buy a beat up bike that cost $12000 new and is so rotten that's it now worth  a grand, buy a bike that is simple and not too flashy that cost $3500 to $6000 new and is in great shape. Have it checked out by a mechanic. A bad bike can be even more dangerous than usual.
