  1. first of allyou hae to know the papers where she lives and then you can lok it up. find the name of the newspaper and call it up on the net and then look up obits and that is how you do it. do you know when shes gone to t he Lord? well that is the day you would look if you con't then you will have to slowly go back and far as you can.

  2. -You can try googling her name.

-Go to your local newspaper website and see their obits.

  3. was she in a newspaper? type in their site and look for her in that section

  4. Serenity,

There is not always an obituary, but I did find the very brief one for your mother. If you would like to see it as printed in the Lexington Herald-Leader, you would need to contact the newspaper for a re-print. Or, if you live nearby, you could check a library to see if it is on microfilm and print a copy.  The edition and page appears at the end.(see below)

    Lexington Herald-Leader (KY) - June 5, 1998

Deceased Name: WHITLEY CITY - Laura Lee Sambolin

WHITLEY CITY - Laura Lee Sambolin, 33, Stearns, daughter of Donna Astacio, Stearns, died May 28. Memorial service 11 a.m. today, Whitley City United Methodist Church. Arrangements, Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

    Lexington Herald-Leader (KY)

    Date: June 5, 1998

    Edition: Final

    Page: B2

    Record Number: 9806060042

  5. This link tells the name of the funeral home and also the cemetery and the years of her birth and death:

    http://www.kykinfolk.com/mccreary/cemete...

(I found this by doing a Google search for "sambolin, laura".)

    I'm still looking...  :o)

    edit -

    I found this at http://obits.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-b...

SAMBOLIN, Laura Lee; 33; Whitley City KY; Lexington H-L; 1998-6-5; jcowgell

Is this the right funeral home?  If so, you might want to consider calling them and asking for a copy of the obituary:

    Hickman Strunk Funeral Home

    Whitley City, KY 42653

    Phone Number: (606) 376-5334

    I hope that helps!

  6. If you know the city your mother was living in at the time of her death, you can contact the local newspaper and ask them if they can research the obituary for you if it was recent.

If it was not a recent death, you can contact the local library or go to the local library and ask them to show you how to find older obituaries.  Libraries keep copies of newspapers on micro fish and actual copies in some instances.

Good luck,  I hope you find what you are looking for.

    Tex
