are private airlines more/less/or as safe as commercial? Are they really cheaper, and more efficient?

  1. Private airline?  You mean a private plane.  Safety wise, the commercial guys are the safest (as measured by deaths per passenger miles).  Cheaper?  No way!  You are flying in luxury on a private plane by yourself.  How could it be cheaper than the buses the big guys run?
