  1. Search websites for Formule1 hotels and Etap hotels. These are the cheapest hotel chains in France and will have several sites in Paris. They are very clean and basic but are great value for money.

Rillifan, a bed and breakfast is where you can get a bed and breakfast on the same site. The question was about a CHEAP b&b in Paris. Formule1 is the cheapest and the one i stayed at was quite convienient.

  2. Check out this website:

    www.hotelresidencedupalais.com

It's in the city, near Luxembourg Gardens and about 10 minutes from Notre Dame. About 50 Euros a night for a room with a double bed and a private shower in the room, and a bathroom down the hall, with a balcony overlooking the entrance to the Gardens. It is small, and family run, but the guy who runs it is incredibly nice. He woke up at 2am the night before we were supposed to get there (there was a misunderstanding about flights), and let us sleep on an extra mattress in the laundry room for free as he was completely booked. It's very clean, has free breakfast, internet, and parking, and the owner speaks excellent English.

Also, try searching for "pensions." They are usually cleaner than hostels and cheaper than b&b's.

    I hope this helps!!

  3. The real answer is that you won't find a genuinely cheap "bed and breakfast" that is also conveniently located in Paris. The Etap and Formula 1 chains that have been mentioned are all located on the outskirts of the city and a false economy. They are cheap(ish) because they are inconvenient. (nor are they bed and breakfasts in any ordinary sense of the term).

We've had discussions on this board about what constitutes a "bed and breakfast" and there are few, if any, such places in the sense that most Americans or Brits understand the term. Most hotels have some sort of breakfast available, often included in the price, but its not a big British/American style breakfast.

Stay in the city center and don't focus on terms like Bed and Breakfast. Take a look at the Eurocheapo site: http://www.eurocheapo.com/paris/

I personally like the Hotel St. Andre des Arts: http://www.123france.co.uk/en/0/hotel-sa...

The Hotel des Allies is also a good budget choice: http://www.alliesparishotel.com/

If you're staying more than a week or two then consider getting an apartment. Most of these aren't particularly cheap but having your own cooking facilities allows you to save a lot of money on food.

  4. Check the URL below for Paris bed breakfast hotels and hostels. Starting from $21 onwards
