Look around for a home you want to buy, whether it be listed with an agent or for sale by owner. Make an offer based on what you have in mind. If you have no significant up-front, non-refundable money...I doubt the owner would be very interested in your proposal. If you have a significant amount to risk in the event that you do not buy- the owner would listen and you make the deal happen via logical negotiation. You give and you get.
