My husband is a trainer in Canada, but we have horses bred in the United States also. We wld like to know how the sire and the dam ran. It seems every time we try to find out they want money.

  1. This website is useful: http://www.pedigreequery.com/

You type in the name that you're looking for, and it gives you the pedigree of the horse.  It should have a race record.  At the top of the page, it will give you the horse's name in bold print, then give its dosage information, then its race record including career earnings.  Unfortunately, the website depends on user updates, so you don't always find the most accurate up to date information there... but it's a start.  If the horse ever ran in a stakes, you can find out which stakes and which horse won... put your mouse pointer over "Reports" then go down to "stakes races" and click on it.

Other than a user-updated website like pedigreequery, everyone is going to want money for finding the race record of a horse.  good luck!
