How do i find my SSID on my computer for wireless router. So i can hook up my ps3?

You need to enter the numbers under  or on the ps3 itself into the router when it asks for it during setup.The numbers are on the ps3.Most liekly underneath.

You will have to log into your router configuration page to see it or use a laptop and VIEW CONNECTIONS. It is probably at default since you dont know what it is. Default name is usually the brand of the router.

While on your computer in windows:

Goto run and type cmd , then hit ok

In the new window that appears type ipconfig , then hit enter

this will show something similar:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

        Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . : kc.ncrad.com

        Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

        Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.16.254

Now do you see the default gateway ? if your are connected directly to your wireless router as a modem as well this will be the numbers you will need to write down eg. 192.168.16.254

If not you need to know the IP address of your router , look within the documentation of the wireless access point or search for the default IP of your router on the internet.

now type this number into the address bar of your browser and hit enter , this will bring up your wireless's configuration and setup page , depending on the make and model it may be different but look for either a wireless settings page , or setup page and look for wireless , because within there you will see the set SSID and you can also change it and add a password if you want.
