Good links in the other post.  Find out first what the origin and meaning of "Kara" is, then find an Cherokee translation of the meaning, rather than a Cherokee pronunciation of "Kara."

Firstly, names of people and places are proper names, are often cultural-specific, and are NOT all translatable into other languages, like common words are.  Secondly, there is NOT just one Cherokee language.  The different tribes each had/have their own languages.  To translate into Cherokee, but not a specific tribe is pretty generic and is not accurate for all Cherokee languages.
