How do i find out about life insurance policies, stocks, ect. held by my deceased father?

he died in texas and we were just notified thirteen days after death. he has been cremated by step-son without his six daughters knowledge.

Who is the executor of his estate?  That person should have access to his personal papers.

HAVE AN ATTORNEY CHECK INTO HIS WILL WHICH WOULD BE RECORDED IN THE COUNTY RECORDS WHERE HE LIVED; IF HE DID NOT LEAVE A WILL THE ATTORNEY WILL HAVE TO DO SOME WORK TO FIND THE INFO YOU WANT.

Did he die without a will?

Probably wouldn't hurt to hire a probate attorney!
