How do i find out if a digital cable box i bought on ebay will work with my local cable provider?

  1. Unlike satellite transmission, cable transmission is standard. As long as the box has a QAM tuner and a standard cablecard slot, it should work just fine. You will just need to order a cablecard from your local cable company.
