  1. Double click on My Computer Icon. See if a DVD-RAM  drive is indicated under "Devices with Removable Storage"

DVD-RAM indicates Random Access Memory, which means you store info on it, therefore a "Burner"

  2. I am having the same problem.  I only have one CD disk slot, so I doubt i could have a DVD burner.  But i remember ordering it with my computer than i customized at dell.com

And i have Roxio, a program that deals with DVD's come with my computer, but with only 1 disk slot, idk if they gave me the dvd burning capability.

If you only have 1 slot to put disks in, i would call dell, tell them ur name and ur computer (they prob look at their records and know what u ordered), and ask them how to burn DVD's.

If you have 2 disk slots, im guessing you have the capability, and just need to ask someone at dell for their help in getting it to work.  Also, if you figure it out, can you make mine best answer and write a note at the bottom, cuz i need to know for my computer too. :)

  3. easy - in my computer, go to your dvd drive and if it says "write files to cd", etc. on the side, you are capable of burning.
