How do i find out more about a painting even though i cant really read the name?

i picked up a painting from a thrift store and i just want to know more about it. i though it was just something personal someone locally had done until my roommate told me she had a friend that had the same thing, but in picture form. this is an original, but im having trouble reading the name...it looks like B. Evans '67. is there some sort of database of pictures of artwork...i just would like to know more about this piece and the artist.

I am not able to find out the exact answer for you because I have no image to go about.
