My computer shuts off on its own sometimes and I heard if it gets too hot that it will shut down. How do I find this out. What are the best programs to keep my computer uncluttered and safe and from shutting off when it has a fit.

  1. SpeedFan, though if your Pc is older than 5 years, or when made the tempreature sensors werent put in right then it may not work.

if your CPU gets hotter then a 50'C  constantly then your in trouble, though it may be diffrnet for diffrent CPUs, jsut type "<your CPU name> max temprature> in google.

DO NOT take the sid e of the case off, that will reduce air flow greatly and heat everyhting up, unless you then get a desk fan to blow on everyhting.

if it gets too hot reguallry(though you shoudl do this at least every 3 months anyway) then clean out any dust ( touch a radiotr to remove any static on you first) with a hoover, i use a cheap toothbrush to clean dust in nooks like the fins on the fans. or you could do it proffesioanly and use canned air.

if that doesnt work then repalce the CPU fan, Artic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro is meant ot be one of hte best around for pretty cheap( some fans can be £50+($100+)

You cannot stop your Pc shuttign down, if it needs to shut down from been too hot it will turn off, it's be like keeping a chicken in the cooker too long, if it sets off the smoke alarm, dont remove the batteries next time, or it will all go wrong, fatally.

  2. I don't know a program but I have a very easy solution to having your computer's temperature stay relatively low. Just remove one of the cases on the side of your computer.

This will make the noise it produces more obvious, but keep your temperature down a lot!

When I did it I went from shutting down every 6 hours, to never shutting off automatically.

  3. Ummmi use sumthing called SpeedFan. Just install it and it tell u ur temp when u run the program. Not sure wats the sie for it jsut google it

  4. First of all, see if you can turn down your CPU running level.  If your computer gets so hot that it shuts down, you must be running it at a very high level.  Secondly, remove any programs that you're not using--the more programs you have, the more processes your computer runs, and more processes it has, the more CPU it uses, which makes your computer hot.  You can see how many processes your computer has by doing CTRL+ALT+DEL and clicking on the 'processes' tab.  Thirdly, depending on if it's a laptop or a desktop, you can do one of two things.  If it's a desktop, you can attach an external fan over the existing fan, which will help cool it faster.  You can get these for like $10-$20 at Best Buy and other electronics places.  If it's a laptop, you can get a lapdesk-thing that has fans on it for around $30-$40.

Keeping your computer cool will make it last longer and run faster!

  5. l tried every solution listed here and more, it, an Acer 5100 just slowly died. Still don't know why it just didn't quit all of a sudden, at one point l even took the hdd out and put it in the freezer for a half an hour. lt's the motherboard soon it won't start at all. Get all you memories off while you can.
