  1. You just need your address, they tell you the phone number. If they need to phone you before you're connected then you need to give them a mobile number. I move house regularly & always sort out connection by ringing from my Mums house. Giving them the new address is all I've ever had to do. Whilst you're on the phone to them sorting out the landline they will tell you your new number.

  2. Wow  -that's the dumbest thing ive heard all day. Ring a mobile phone!

  3. You don't actually HAVE a landline phone number as that is what BT are going to supply you wth. They are after a contact telephone number like your mobile phone. Go into your contacts menu and go to "M" where you will find "My Mobile" or "My Number", click it or click View and you will see your mobile phone number.

Post code you can get by going to http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm and clicking on the "Find a Postcode" link. Put your address in there and it will show your post code

  4. Ask your neighbour

  5. call your phone company

  6. Borrow a handset and phone your mobile to see your number or call BT they really should know from your account details!

  7. look in the phone book

  8. oh for goodness sake !

Go down to the market, buy a cheap £4.99 'phone plug it in and dial 147017070 and the digital woman's voice will tell you the 'phone number associated with your house.

As for your post code, ask the estate agent.

Additional.....you won't be able to ring a mobile or any other phone because  your line will have a restricted service bar on it.

  9. Ring your moblie from the landline.

  10. Call a mobile phone from your landline and write down the number that comes up on your mobile screen?

  11. Good luck. Hope you get it figured out. I'd call someone with caller ID. See if you can call the operator to find the number?

  12. look up your address on yell.co.uk, find ur post code and then see if there is a number registered to ur address?
