How do i find out my period?

i was at school and for the first time i saw brownish discharge i think it was with somethin just a lil darker in it im not sure cuz i was wearin red undies but im not sure if it was my first period how do i find out if that was my first or not im havin bloatin. help please

If you have a school nurse (preferably female), or a (female) physical education coach/teacher, they would be able to confirm whether you are beginning your menstrual cycle for the first time.

Also, your mother could assist you in ascertaining the fact.  She could also get you the supplies you would need and instruct you on how to properly use them.

Note:  depending on the age of your mother, she may not want you to use the tampons to begin with.  She may only want you to use the pads.  (My mom was that way when I first started menstruating.  I think it was because she thought that tampons were only for married ladies.)

If it continues, its your period. Sometimes you get a bit of discharge before you get your period, so many check every once in a while for a bit.
