How do i find out my phone company?

I know someone has a phone in my name and i know the phone number...how can i tell what phone company it is??

I have access to such a database.  I would need to know the phone number.

Several phone directory type websites seem to give such information but I've found they are only about 50% accurate and never take into account when an NXX (prefix) get split between multiple carriers.
