How do i find out what engine is in my 2 litre automatic vectra?

There are 3 different engines & i don't know which one is in mine There is a site where you put in your registration number & they tell you but where do i find it

  1. It will say on the documentaion of your car.

    Such as the V5, insurance or the MOT


  2. Look at your V5: The engine number's on it, showing the prefix & therefore the engine type. It's also on your chassis plate & stamped on your engine. If it's still there, there's also a bar code sticker under the bonnet with the engine type.

  3. It'll be on the V5 and also on the VIN plate, usually found in the engine compartment.

  4. check in car documents, in the one where is information about the owner of car. I've seen documents from 3 countries and all of them had this info.

  5. forget the v5,nowt will be written there...you need to find the engine number stamped on the block..this also shows the engine code number...not quite sure where they are on yours but there going to be viewable from the top,look along the base of the head[on the catsings]...they will be there somewhere..on a flat surface about 15mm by 60mm,they may be coverd in oil or rust..
