How do i find out what kind of snake it was?

There was a snake outside of my house and we killed it and took a picture and i want to know if it's poisonous or not. What site can i use to find out?

  3. i dont know any sites, but u can go on google and search snakes or u can go to ure library and searh for books on snakes. hope u find it!

  5. First of all if it was outside you should have left it alone it wouldnt have hurt you snakes don't hunt down people just to bite them. Secondly snakes aren't poisonous they are venomous poison is injested through the digestive track and venom is injected directly into a vein.

OK First if the snake has Vertical pupils its venomous if it has round pupils its safe it wont hurt you....well you should go to google and what ever state your living in search "Your State's reptiles and amphibians" i know you don't need the amphibians but it gives you a better search result,Good luck with your search for this unknown snake :)
