How do i find out what type of graphics card i've got?

i'm looking to buy a game for my pc but do not know whether i have a directx 9.0 level graphics card and can't work out how to find that info please help me

on vista you hit my computer, then system properties

press windows + R type "DXDiag" (without the quotes) all the information is on the tabs at the top of the window

or if your windows key does not work: Start -> run (if on xp)

Start and then type "Run" (without the quotes) if on vista
