Have you tried www.192.com to see if he has a listed phone number?  Reasons for not being listed - ex-directory, living with someone else who pays the bill (eg parents), on cable, uses a mobile only.

Friends reunited another possibility.  Subscribers are listed under details like old schools, Clubs and workplaces.

A letter to The Readers' Letters column of the Bolton newspaper asking if anyone has any info about Craig's current whereabouts.  Google will give you the address of the newspaper.

There are at least 7 people called Craig Smith on the Electoral Roll for the Bolton area.

Where did you lose him? There is a craig, who is one of the managers on Bury market, don't know if that's him or not  (could look at their website to see)

with the information you have it should be possible,have you tried peoplefinder.com or ancestry uk.co.uk,either of these should do it,as search engines i know of no better on the net,failing this then its down to tracing agency but this option is not cheap
