i know there is an unbelievable amount of info on this subject on the internet. i am curious about anyone's experience with finding and evaluating stocks for a personal portfolio. i am not interested in the big names with lots of available analysis, just the process of identifying strong small and mid cap stocks. what strategies do you use to initially create a pool of potential investments?

  1. I recommend an online brokerage firm that has good beginner qualitys {like tutorials or an easy to understand set up}, i use zecco, better then schwab, etrade, etc. they are the only ones with free stock trades, no minumums..all the others will charge you fees for trading, but compare and see for yourself. Good luck and happy investing!

  2. Get a subscription to Investor's Business Daily.  Their picks are annihilating the S&P since inception

  3. Check out this website. http://www.freeman.tulane.edu/burkenroad...

I saw this guy at a financial conference and I was very impressed. New and upcoming companies researched by Tulane University Students. The call it "stocks under rocks" its pretty cool.

    Good Luck!
