The face value is what ever is printed on the certificate. For the collectible value, go to EBay and see what they go for.

If it is a dollar bill, the face value is $1.00.  Do you mean the market value?  There are guides to the value of paper money that are regularly published.  The local book store should have one or Amazon for sure.
