How do i find the owner of the ipod?

i found an ipod shuffle in a parking lot, can i mail the serial number to apple and get the name of the owner? or can i find it myself? or what do i do?

take it to the place where the parking lot is. if that doesnt work take it to your police station.

plug it in and see if it says their name when it pops up

call apple and do exactly what you said about giving the serial number.

or give it to the store that you were closest to and put it there in the lost and found.

just dont do what dumb people would do, keep it.

you can do that, but they might not be able to give you the address or you can put up a sign found lost ipod the owner please contact me and then ask the person that calls you questions like what songs does it have, what color is it? and if it's theirs then they should know and you would be able to tell Good Luck

apple will not share the owner's personal info with u so once u call apple and verify they know the owner, you have to send it to apple then apple will send it to the original owner. doubt this would work 'cuz u see how much work involved!if u just send it back to apple they will recycle it.

i would leave a note with security there if possible , in case the owner go looking for it. also craigslist is a great place to post when you have found something, and check to see if the owner has posted looking for it.

you can try apple, but i dont think they would release the owner's info, but perhaps they could help get you in touch, if the product was registered. thumbs up for doin the right thing :)
