    Multiply top and bottom by 2 to get 6b/9

    Divide top and bottom by 3 to get 2b/3

    2b/3 or (2/3)*b

  2. You can cancel 3 in the numerator and denominator.

    b / 1.5

    4.5..........2..........9................

    Why multiply by 2? Because 2 is the nearest possible number in which when you multiply,you can cancel something from 3 and 4.5.
