How do i find the square root of a number...?

that is not a perfect square but with KEEPING the radical symbol?

Like...the square rood of 24 is tow on the square root of six...how do i do that with a more complicated problem? Like what would the square root of 98 be?

  1. Use the square root button on a calculator, or if there isn't one, taking any number to the exponent of .5 also finds the square root. The square root of 98 is 9.8994949366116653416118210694679.

  2. you do these problem by looking for perfect squares in the number or factor

    like for 98,

    7,7,2

    so answer is 7 sqrt 2


  3. most square roots can't be broken up any further.

    But √98 = √(49*2) = 7√2

    If you can't break it up, you either leave it as is, or use a calculator.
