How do i find the value of f(3) f(x)= -x^2+3?

  1. Take the number inside the f() and put it where the x is in that equation.  Then solve the equation.  So f(3) would be -3^2 + 3.  Now, be sure you wrote it right.  Is it -(x^2)+3 or is it (-x)^2+3??

    and x=3

    den f(3)=-(3)^2+3

                  (-3)^2+3

                  9+3

                   12

          f(3) in this situation=s 12
