i dropped it during marching practice and it seemed fine; it worked perfectly. but now a few days later it has a leak on the worst place possible. (the first one on the right hand). so i can't play alot of the notes, and i have a playing test tomorrow and a parade saturday. i don't have time to take it to the shop. can i fix it myself, or can my band director maybe do it? i just found it today, and i don't have practice today, so i can't ask him. help?

  1. Take it to a music shop and see if you can borrow another instrument from your band director or reschedule your test! You can do real damage trying to fix instruments by yourself

  2. call your band director and see if he has any suggestions.

if you need to take it to the shop, but cant do it in time,

ask the director if he has an extra one you can use for the test while yours is in the shop.

you can also ask if you can use someone elses if its an individual test.

  3. Gorilla glue, it fixes everything

  4. Do not try to fix it yourself.. that would probably be really difficult and you possibly may make it worse. Go to your local music shop and ask if they can fix it. It may be a small thing and they can fix it in 5 minutes.  If you really cannot take it to the shop, ask ing your band director would be the second best thing. My directors have fixed our flutes and piccolos. Just explain to them that its messed up and maybe a fellow flute player can let you use their flute for the test.

    Good luck
