i bought a suzuki gsxr 600 telephonic limited moviestar edition last friday and i wasnt paying attention, to the title, but the girl i bought the bike from never titled it in her name. it still had the owners name who originally bought the bike from suzuki. well i went to the dmv to get it titled in my name, but they say i have to go to the girl i bought it from and have her get it titled at the dmv,or locate the original owner of the bike and have him sign it over to me,but finding him would be like finding a needle in a haystack. no telling if the guy lives 300 miles away at the same address he originally registered the bike, before i can get it titled in my name. is there any other way around this? can i file for a lost title for the bike? please tell me what my options are.

  1. FORGE IT......just sign his name, everyone one is going to say don't do it and it is illegal, just sign his name to it, that way it will look like you bought it from him...If you need to fill out a new bill of sale with your name on it and his name on it just fill that out too.  Just do it and get the title in your name, your not going to get in trouble

  2. Sorry, but you have no option but to get the girl you bought the bike from to get you a merchantable title.  She will have to first register the bike in her name and then sign the title over to you.  You should Never hand over money without getting a legal title at the time of sale.  What she did was illegal and is called "jumping the title"
