It is sticking enough that it is popping off and i've now crashed twice because of it. the cable is a little rusty but the brake isn't releasing when pressure is no longer being applied.

  1. With the noodle disconnected, check that both brake arms move freely. If not, then lubricate the brake arm adjustment sleeve (near the brake mounting boss and Allen s***w). Make sure the brake arm tension springs are installed correctly. Recheck for free movement. Each brake arm should be tensioned to spring apart; the brake arm tension adjustment s***w shouldn't be too loose (causing brake drag) or too tight (causing a need to apply excessive force on the brake lever). Next look at the brake pads for signs of uneven wear. If the lower part of the pad is not fully contacting the rim, it is possible for that part of the pad to get caught under the rim and stick (and not release). If so, get new brake pads. Finally, with the noodle disconnected, put a little tension on the brake wire by hand, then try to move the brake lever with the other hand. See if the cable moves easily. If not, lubricate the cable or get a new brake wire.
