How do i fix my TV?

my TV brock today while i was on my xbox. i was listening to music and my mum told me to turn it down in a rush i turned it down to zero. if you play call of duty you will understand its hard to play with no sound. i tried turning it up it wouldnt work, i triede turning of the tv it wouldnt work tried with remote wouldnt work. the tv was still working but the tv didnt respond to any of its buttons(when i say buttons i mean on the remote and on the side of the tv). so i took out the plug and it made a cracking sound it came from the power lead in the tv. i thought the fuse might have goon or something so i changed it but still dosent work. now its just blank and dosent respond to anything plz help.

Your TV is probably set up through the cable box, you need to turn it on and off from there, the TV set should be set on component 1 or 2 for the cables remote to work. Turn the sound all the way down manually so when it comes on you won't blow a speaker or your ear drums. You just hit the wrong button in a panic, it's an easy fix so don't freak out.

Take it to a TV repair shop.

Whatever you do, DON'T go opening it up. There are huge capacitors in there that can store a large electrical charge for years, even if the TV has been unplugged. Touch the wrong thing and you can be killed. (This is especially true of TUBE TVs, not sure about LCDs, plasma, etc, but i'd err on the side of caution)

Let a pro fix it. Or, if it's cheap, buy a new one.
