I have a compaq computer which had stopped working after i moved it around my room. When i plug in the power cord, my computer power led green light keeps blinking along with a green light at the back of power supply unit with a continuous "tick" noise but nothing happens. It was working perfectly well just before i moved it. Holding the power button for few seconds does not help. I tried stripping my system to the bare minimum to load but still no luck.I tried all possible thing as available on the internet forum from other people but no success.

  1. Could you have moved the voltage selector on the power supply?  Most power supplies come with a red switch, below the place you connect power, which can be moved with a penny that controls the voltage (110-120V / 220 - 240V).  If this isn't on the 110-120V setting (depending on power supply), this could cause your computer not to POST or have boot errors.  If this doesn't work, your power supply could be damaged.
