Question:

How do i fix my overhead projector?

ok so i borrowed an overhead projector from school and when i plugged it in at home, the fan would turn on from the side but there would be no light....so i opened it up to see what happened and the light bulb doesn't look burnt...anyone know whats wrong? PLEASE! THANK YOU! =)

It sounds like the bulb needs to be replaced.  Even if the bulb looks good, it could still be out.  The tiny filament inside may have separated just enough to stop the flow of current.  The fact that you just moved the projector also leads me to believe that it is the bulb.  I'm not saying that it's your fault, just that the bulbs become increasingly fragile as they get older.  You can probably get a replacement at Staples or Office Depot if the projector isn't that old.  If you were really venturous, you could remove the bulb and inspect it closely.  If you see that there is a gap in the filament (The wire or spring like thing inside the bulb) it is a bad bulb.  

    You might be able to gently shake the bulb and get it to work for a few more minutes if you were really in need of the device immediately but I wouldn't count on it.  Good luck.

    By the way, you shouldn't touch the glass part of the bulb more than what is absolutely necessary.  This could cause premature failure.  (Tip for when you put the new bulb in.)
