My internet recently got upgraded to 1500 and drop outs started and cant hold conn for more then a min in some cases. I called provider and they did test and one was changing filters we did and it still disconn. So we next unplugged the phone and bang internet works awsome no disconnects at all. Any ideas on what could be causing this ? We didnt have these problems when on 512 conn. I will try another phone tomorrow but how would a phone disconnect your net? There both in same jack and internet will only work when phone is unplugged from there. I can definatly verify that cause i plugged in back in when connected and it disconn strait away. Took it back out and away the net went again ran like a dream. Any answers would be greatful Thank You!

  1. Unplug all telephone equipment, including sky boxes, from the telephone socket.

Plug an ADSL filter into the socket you run your broadband modem/router from. Plug the lead from the ADSL port of this ADSL filter, to the ADSL port of the modem or router. Plug the telephone you are having problems with into the phone port NEXT to the ADSL lead in the SAME ADSL filter. If that still kills your line, then there is a high resistence fault with that phone and it will definitely kill your broadband.

Alternatively, some ADSL providers have to supply you with a different modem/router if they increase the speed, as some of the basic modems can't deal wth higher speeds.

  2. Try giving connection thru the spiltter initialy to the internet hub and from there to the phone jack.

  3. I do not know your exact setup, but your line to the modem/computer must have NO filter... The phone MUST have one or two filters in series to work properly. I had to use 2 of them to work properly...!!
