one day my dad's friend clicked an icon on our computer on my dad's user thingy and all of his icons disappeared and even his taskbar. and my dad fixed everything but some of the programs on the all programs list looked like they got blocked or they dont show up on the list. the list with the accessories doesnt have two of the accessories that were origanally on there. the two ones that disappeared were paint and wordpad. the paint icon opens paint but it always freezes and i can't use it and wordpad doesn't open anything but an error message. what happened to my windows xp and how do i fix it?

  1. Don't worry just reinstall these programs by going to:

control panel - add/remove programs - Windows components.

Here you get the list of all programs and double click on "Accessories and utilities" then double click on "Accessories" then  if the check box against paint is selected then unselect it and then press ok to come out. it will uninstall it . then go again and select it . it will reinstall it.

    Good luck!!!

  2. Try this: go to control panel - add/remove programs - Windows components. check everything u need including accesories and utilities. For wordpad  try right clicking on the desktop and goto new - shortcut  and type  C:\WINDOWS\system32\write.exe if your HDD doesn't hav drive C: as your main drive then replace C with the name of it. Not sure if the wordpad one will work though.
