How do i fix the licence plate rattling in my scion tc when the bass is turned up?

i have a subwoofer, my whole trunk rattles a little its okay , but the licence plate rattles alot , i already tightned up the screws and it doesnt stop, i dont want to buy dynomat or nothing, i just want a simple home remedy, what works that i can put under the licence plate? thanks

All the answers below are probably going to work.  Obviously rattles happen when there is movement so anything that stops the movement will work whether it's sticks, washers or weatherproofing strips.  Even silicone sealant behind the plate will work.

Go to Radio Shack, Walmart or such.  Buy a pack of 'cushioned feet for electronics, etc.  take the license plate off and look for signs of rubbing on the paint.  Place one or two of the feet at this area.  You could also place one foot at each corner of the plate.

The best answer would be to stop annoying the public with your ridiculous need for attention by blasting your subwoofer.  Owning a loud speaker does not make you a better person, more loveable, or worthy of respect.

But the other answer would be some type of washer from a hardware store or a cushy strip of adhesive tape between whatever metals are making the rattling sound.

take the plate off.

get some weather striping

line all sides with it just inside the tag lip so no one can see it put the tag back on dont ever tighening the screws just make them snug and you will be happy.

go buy some of the rubber washers they use in garden hoses at your local hardware store

take your licence plate off

put the rubber washers behind the plate where the screws go through

put the screws in and tighten

this will keep your plate from rattleing

Same thing was happening to my car. I know it sounds ghetto, but its free....get a little stick from a tree and put it behind the plate. My license plate no longer rattles. :0)

Go to a local hardware store and buy some 1/4" high density foam weather stripping. Put the weather stripping around the license plate frame, that will fix that nasty rattle.
