How do i fix this Tv or DVD

Question

Problem is that when i play dvd onto my dvd player it player but not full screen but with 2 black side and the movies plays in the middle with 2 blank sides how do i fix this problem?

nothing wrong with it, you just got a full screen dvd, you need wide screen dvds, you have to zoom in to get the full effect, or stretch the screen
