How do i fix this ebay problem?

i sold and item on ebay and i have yet to recieve the payment. but now i need to keep the item. i dont want the other person to pay. what do i do?

Ummmm...... you could just somehow find a way to cancel it or tell the person a lie of some reason that you need to keep it. Like "OMG the thing just got smashed" or "I'm sorry I lost the item" lol

I would just email the winning bidder and tell them the item is no longer for sale.   Or tell them they took too long to pay so you sold it to the 2nd highest bidder.  It should not be a big deal, since they did not pay you anything.

Legally, the auction is a binding contract.  BOTH of you have the right to sue if the other party backs out.  That said, you can always contact the seller and ASK to cancel the sale.  If they haven't paid, maybe they want to back out as well.  If you BOTH agree, no one is harmed.  I think E-Bay will still want their fee.
