How do i format a DVD-RW to work on my DVD player

i have a whole lotta DVDs that i burned and they don't work on any of my dvd players or my PS2 it says unknown disc etc..

is this because i need to format it.

how do i do that??

  1. ps2 don't play copies even if it is in dvd format

    You'd have to buy or download nero

    or there is a program called power2go

    see if you can download or buy that i got it free on my computer

    They do DVD formats wen u burn off a disc

DVD-RW are troublesome if you want to play in a stand alone player like the PS2.If the disk type is DVD-RW and it has already been recorded to , you must finalize it before it will play on stand alone players . you should have an option to finalize in your authoring program. Also consider that there are two formats for DVD-RW recording, VR mode which is virtual VCR, most stand alone recorders use this, and VIDEO mode. Many stand alone DVD players do not accept VR recorded discs, even if it is finalized, try formating in VIDEO mode instead and re burning the disc, formatting will destroy disc recording, if VIDEO mode fails, Then you are better off recording to DVD+R which is the most compatible.
