  1. One way to free up some hard disk space is to change the percentage of hard disk space set aside for the RECYCLE BIN. It set at 20% by default.

RIGHT CLICK on the RECYCLE BIN icon, then click on Properties and adjust the percentage to 1%.

You' have to Shutdown and Restart computer for the change to take effect.

Note: Check the Free Disk Space on your hard drive BEFORE & AFTER to see how much you've gained,

  2. The only way to free up space on the hard drive is to delete some files. You can also try CCleaner which should empty out your temp files etc. Also consider upgrading to a bigger hard drive. Defragging won't clear up space, it only reorganizes your files on the hard drive - Defraggler is a good program to check out - also made by the same people that make CCleaner.

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware.
