  1. Here's a great tip for your question.  When you take your grip at address, let the thumb of your gloved hand extend further down the shaft.  It not only helps with control but helps make you aware of what position the club is at the top!  Hope this helps.

  2. the club should be running between both your palms and your left pointer and right pinky should be interlocked. keep your right elbow in while in the backswing and your left arm straight. your wrists should always stay locked and the swing should feel very mechanical. when you get used to it the swing will feel more natural.

  3. Your grip pressure should be constant from address, to back swing to finish.  Changing of grip pressure results in manipulation of wrists, which results in inconsistent ball striking.

Most likely it's your back swing that needs to be fixed.  Poor back swing results in poor position at the top of the swing, which requires compensations, which lead to so many problems.

  4. Time for a lesson from a good teaching pro. You are too conscious of your swing that is making it mechanical rather than fluid.

  5. It could be that you are over swinging. Don't let the club go past parallel to the ground when you are at the top of your back-swing.

To be honest there can be many reasons why you are doing this, and without anybody being able to see your swing we could make an endless list of reasons why this is happening.

I would advise you to take a lesson from a Pro. £15-£25 for a 30minute lesson (that is plenty of time when being with a pro)

Tell the professional what you think feels wrong and he will be able to work with you can fix your problem.
